Labour campaign for Kennington Congestion Charge Buffer Zone

Labour London Assembly Member, Valerie Shawcross, is calling on the Mayor to give Kennington residents the benefit of the Congestion Charge Residents Discount.

At Mayor’s Question Time Val asked Ken Livingstone to give Kennington residents living just outside the southern boundary of the zone the same discount he is proposing to give Kensington residents living just outside the new western boundary. Ken agreed he would consider this and invited Val and Kennington residents to put together a case.

Val said “I welcome the Mayor’s willingness to consider a buffer zone for Kennington. The congestion charge boundary on Kennington Lane split the community in two. A discount for those just outside the boundary would help reunite it.”
