Another Party for 'weak' Lib Dems
The “celebratory get together” for the Reframing Advisory Group will surprise tenants who were told that their local housing offices had to be closed as part of a cost cutting exercise. It comes hot on the heels of the Champagne reception, with string quartet, which the Liberals held to celebrate Lambeth Council being ranked as “weak” by Government inspectors. Despite huge Government investment and a 35% rise in council tax the Liberal Democrats have failed to move the council up one single place in the league table of London boroughs. Cllr John Kazantzis, Lambeth Labour’s Lead spokesperson on Housing, said: “I’m amazed that the Liberals have the gall to celebrate their botched reframing exercise. Tenants and leaseholders who are getting a sub-standard service from the council do not see reframing as anything close to a success.” “It appears that the Liberals are getting a taste for throwing these expensive parties. What a shame they are unable to muster as much enthusiasm for improving council services.” Share
