Save our housing offices in Lambeth

Lambeth Council wants to close down the neighbourhood housing offices and open up a caller centre instead. That means you won't have a housing office on your estate, and if you want to speak to a housing officer you will have to phone up.

Lambeth Labour are demanding that NO changes should be made to the housing service until tenants approve them in an all-tenant ballot. When Labour was running the Council, they were prepared to listen and hold ballots on major decisions effecting tenants.

But now Lambeth's new Liberal and Tory bosses won't let tenants have their say. They want to force through plans to close the Neighbourhood Housing Offices - even though the Tenants' Council has received representations from across the borough which are firmly against the proposals.

We say: these proposals should NOT be approved by the Council until all tenants have had a chance to make their views known in a free and open ballot. We live in council homes - and we know what's best for our homes.
