Lambeth Tenants face more housing cuts

It has emerged that Lambeth’s Liberal Democrat -Tory Council is in the process of closing yet more vital housing services. This time the estate-based, weekly housing guidance drop-in sessions are for the axe.
The sessions were created as a major plank in the now widely discredited "re-framing" exercise which restructured housing management, replacing the previously popular neighbourhood housing offices. Now these drop in centres have been deemed surplus to requirements, leaving residents with only a central call centre for comfort to report problems and seek advice.
Labour councillors have voiced their disquiet that tenants will no longer have access to this face to face service. Many of Lambeth's most vulnerable residents often have difficulty in accessing services remotely or via the telephone.
Cllr John Kazantzis, Labour’s Housing Spokesperson
said:
“This leaves residents with practically no avenues of support and
advice. It is unacceptable that the Council are taking away services and
not replacing them.
The Council should be working for the residents of Lambeth instead of cutting their services.”
