Pack more into your recycling

In previous years, Liberal Democrats wasted council money through inefficiency, purchasing of luxury offices and allowing themselves to be defrauded by their own employees. Now, with clear direction from Labour, the council is able to invest in projects that help the community and the environment. Lambeth residents can now recycle even more of their household waste following the announcement that the council will now collect "Tetra Pak" style food and drink cartons.

The council predicts that 200 tonnes of waste could be diverted from landfill each year if everyone in Lambeth recycled cartons, and residents can start recycling right away. Labour Cllr Lib Peck, Cabinet Member for Environment and Culture said: "Lambeth Council is making it easier than ever for people to recycle more, and by working with Western Riverside Waste Authority we are now able to process and recycle cartons, which is good news for residents and the environment."
