Brixton Rec reopening

Solution found by Labour to save its services for older people

The Rec will be open from 9 July onwards between the hours of 9am-5pm seven days a week with the swimming pools and crèche on offer to be used by visitors. Other facilities such as gym, squash, football and exercise studios will become available
for use from 18 July.

A grand Open Day will be held on Saturday 28 July between 8am-8pm. During the day children and families will be able to enjoy free taster sessions with new equipment and find out more about the phased refurbishment of the centre.

This reperensents a massive change in council policy. Labour has invested £3million in renovating Brixton Rec. Two years ago Labour campaigned against and stopped Lib Dem proposals to close Brixton Rec.
