Ever wondered why your councillor came into politics in the first place? Curious about what they think is the most important issue in your area? Or would you just like to find out a little bit more about the people elected to serve you in Lambeth? Well now you have the chance to find out. Labour councillors have been subjected to a rigorous interview which are now available here.

Instead of just asking them the usual standard questions, Lambeth’s webmaster decided to take a more unusual approach. With questions like: “What’s the first thing you would do if you ruled the world for a day?” and “Who is your political hero, and why?” residents will be able to get to know the councillors they elected just that little bit better.

Labour Councillor Christopher Wellbelove said:

“As John Snow might say, this is ‘just a bit of fun’, but it will give people a better idea of who is representing them. Politicians are often accused of being remote, so I hope this will break that view down a little bit in Lambeth.

“The councillor profiles were already the most popular part of our award winning website, so I hope that more people will come to take a look at the sometimes surprising answers in these light-hearted interviews.”
