Lambeth Housing: What's your view?

Between 2002 and 2006, Lambeth Council was run by a right-wing coalition of Liberal Democrats and Conservatives. The Lib Dems didn't care that the Conservatives had let public housing crumble while they were in power nationally. No wonder, then, that as soon as they got the chance they set about cutting back Lambeth's housing service.

Now Labour's going to put things right. We want to hear your view on the options available to bring in £200 million so we can meet our commitments to deliver better homes for tenants and leaseholders right across Lambeth.

Which statement do you most agree with?

Lambeth should go for an ALMO to bring in the money we need while keeping our homes in council ownership.

Lambeth should work with a private company and borrow the money through a PFI (Private Finance Initiative) scheme.

Lambeth should transfer its housing to a housing association and let them run our homes and estates.

Lambeth should to do nothing and leave our homes as they are

Instead of accepting the Government’s money Lambeth should cut other services like schools, older people’s centres and children’s playgrounds, and use that money to repair housing.
