The e-mails reveal rank opportunism in the Lib Dem ranks. Darren Sanders describes planning agreements as "bribes" whilst Angie Meader suggests ways to deny local MP Keith Hill credit for his campaign for more GP's. She writes that any credit for Keith Hill would, "Not really [be] in the spirit of bringing Streatham South residents, particularly the Asian community, into the fold!" Councillor Meader is also exposed for using her position as Health Scrutiny Chair for party political purposes.

Darren
There has been correspondence between keith hill and xxxxx already. To be
honest Darren, my view is that if you speak to him at this point I think you
will be undermining my efforts to move credit for any possible success, if
ever there is any, that we could claim for the administration and handing
it to Labour - if I can get anything to work out Keith Hill will get the
credit for it! Not really in the spirit of bringing streatham south
residents, particularly the asian community, into the fold! However, it
doesn't work out to the residents satisfaction then I fortunately have
copies of all the correspondence between xxxx and keith and perhaps we could
then allow keith to take his share of the blame?
I asked you guys not advertise that I am sharing all other people's emails
with lib-dem colleagues and would greatly appreciate your respecting this
request.
Am copying in the rest of the 'vale gps' group perhaps if anyone thinks I
am going off at too much of a tangent here they can feel free to [politely]
put me back on track
Angie

Angie,
I know Keith's PA Joe. I need to have a chat with him after Lab conference
anyway, so will mention the generality of this anyway - use my regen post
to say I am concerned and does Keith know?
It's not trivia. If we cna get some creidt out of this, we look good.
It may also be prudent to look at any potential planning applications in
the Vale and see if S106 (planning gain/bribes) is useful.
Keep going. Hope Dan is well.
Darren
